Mark is a heavyweight commercial litigator with extensive experience of contractual disputes, fraud and asset tracing, insolvency, professional negligence, arbitration and judicial review applications.

 

Mark was admitted as a solicitor in 1999 and is a former senior associate of Withers LLP. He has acted for a wide range of corporate and individual clients, including coroners and judges, in both High Court and arbitration proceedings. He is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution and has represented numerous clients in mediations.

 

Reported cases include:

Ford v Polymer Vision Ltd [2009] 2 BCLC 160 (injunctive relief preventing the appointment of joint administrators by challenging a company’s Centre of Main Interests);


R (on the application of Barclay and others) v Secretary of State for Justice and others [2009] UKSC 9 (high profile judicial review proceedings relating to the newly reformed constitution of the Channel Island of Sark);


Carlisle & Cumbria United Supporters Trust v CUFC Holdings [2010] EWCA Civ 463 (a well publicised derivative claim involving a former Chairman of Carlisle United Football Club and land belonging to the Club); and


Cathy Bosworth Horton v (1) Timothy Evans (2) Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd [2006] EWHC 2808 (QB) (damages claim relating to the misprescription and dispensation of some medication).
